In Boulder, nurseries are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Colorado, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Check the listing for hours, seasonal closures and Google rating before you go.

Boulder is in Colorado, in the Mountain West, where the high elevation brings cold snowy winters, warm dry summers and big day-to-night temperature swings; ski and summer tourist seasons shape opening hours in resort towns. Getting around Boulder is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Colorado's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

So glad to have finally shopped here! Harlequin’s is heads and shoulders above a standard big box store nursery. The selection is good, and everything is grouped and labeled clearly (with Latin species names, native/non-native status, descriptive blurbs, if it’s a Plant Select waterwise choice, etc.) Excited to get my plants into the ground!

Love this local nursery, every time I go the knowledgeable staff are so helpful. I especially appreciate their native plant selection and the labeling they have so you know planting requirements before your purchase.

Great selection of local plants of every type, all the plants look well cared for, really detailed info on trees and shrubs, and staff is SUPER knowledgeable. My toddler was a little too obsessed with the plant wagons πŸ˜… Only drawback is a tiny and chaotic parking lot, but that's a small price to pay for a thriving small business.

True garden masters own this place. 1-in-1000-level expertise and sincerity. They also offer classes and newsletters; especially helpful for anyone struggling with Colorado's gardening challenges!

This is a lovely place and the owner is awesome and so helpful! However, the staff made a mistake and inadvertently put 3 plants that I did not select in my boxes which I purchased and later noticed and called and emailed about w no resolution. I can’t speak for the plants themselves as this is my first time buying here but so far, they are hardening just fine and I look forward to planting in a few days and watching them thrive.
